The fifth of seven of the Seven Stars assassins, Abidos is a young pharaoh who is a legendary, undefeated duelist. He was revived from his eternal slumber willingly so that he could have a thrilling duel at least once in his life, and thus became a shadow duelist.
He gathers the duelists by sending mummies after them to round them up, and then transports them onto his Egyptian-style ship in a flash of light. Juudai, of course, decides to step up and duel Abidos first. During the duel, Abidos and Juudai converse quite a bit, and even have a rather cute chibi argument over who the real fool is for arguing about the end of the duel when it hasn't even happened yet. Juudai wins (shock!), and before Abidos ascends back to heaven, he asks Juudai to come with him. Juudai ponders.
In the end, Juudai decides to stay on Earth. Abidos wanted to take him with him because he didn't want to end it with just one fabulous duel. Juudai tells him to wait about 100 years, and Abidos says that compared to 3000 years, 100 is nothing. So Abidos goes to heaven, leaving Juudai and his friends on Earth. But Juudai can't wait to be able to teach Abidos what a real duel is!
