misawa daichi

Misawa: REOWR ATTACK PLZ.Name kanji: ŽO‘ò‘å’n
Age: 16
Dorm: Ra Yellow
Deck type: 6 Attributes (Fire, Water, Wind, Dark, Light, Earth; he has one deck for each attribute)
Aliases: Niban-kun (by Juudai), Misawacchi (by Taniya, and it becomes a teasing nickname for him by everyone else)
Dub name: Bastion Misawa
Voice: Masuda Yuuki (Japanese), Eric Stuart (American)

Misawa begins his first year at the Academy at the top of his grade; only not in Obelisk Blue because he didn't go to the associated middle school. He got the top score on the written portion of the exam and passed the dueling portion with flying colors. However, he's eventually outranked by Juudai, so he becomes number two in the long run.

Misawa: The horror... THE HORROR...Misawa is a very calculating, theoretical person. He uses numbers and strategy to determine the outcome of each duel, and carefully calculates his decks meticulously to perfection based on the strategy and deck of his opponent. We see his dorm room walls covered in mathematical equations at one point in the series, and Juudai, Shou, and Misawa have tons of fun painting over them.

Funky action pose LIEKWOAH.During the Seven Stars arc, Misawa is chosen to duel Taniya, a masculine-looking, feminine-sounding amazoness. She uses her feminine wit and charm to make him fall for her, and when he loses the duel, Taniya's pet tiger Baas chases everyone else out of the arena, and Misawa is trapped within the ancient colosseum that he and Taniya dueled in. He is eventually set free, dazed and completely lovesick. He goes about his daily life completely out of it, and Juudai decides that he has to defeat Taniya himself. He does so, and Taniya is set free, turning back into a tiger and returning into the jungle. Misawa is heartbroken, but moves on. However, he gets very touchy on the subject, and whenever it is brought up, he slips back into his depression over her.

Still can't get over Taniya? Why not COSPLAY HER TIGER?! :DMisawa, although listed as a major character, is almost treated like a minor character by the series. He rarely has episodes to himself, and when he does, he usually ends up losing the duel (he's only won once during the entire series, and that was against Manjoume in episode 12). He's consistently ignored by the other characters, and eventually tires of it, and, in a duel with Manjoume White Thunder, decides to lose on purpose and join the Hikari no Kessha when the promise of no longer being neglected by his friends is shown to him (as well as a harem of white-ified girls, but let's not get into that).
