Taniya, the third of the Seven Stars, is an amazoness woman with an appropriate deck. She picks Misawa to duel her first, and boy, does it ever leave a scar on Misawa. Although she appears very tough and boyish, she charms Misawa with her feminine side, calling him "Misawacchi" like a pet name.
Anyway, she duels with Misawa and Misawa winds up losing, and so Taniya takes his key -- and his heart. Her pet tiger, Baas, chases Juudai and his friends out of the arena and closes the gate behind them, leaving Misawa trapped with Taniya for him to become her "bridegroom". Supposedly, in this time, Misawa duels eight times against Taniya and loses every single time. The gang spends the night outside the arena, discussing what happened, until the door to the colosseum opens, and out walks Misawa, who falls to his knees and looks completely lovesick.
Misawa explains that Taniya is not satisfied by his dueling and that he cannot fulfill her feelings. He accepts that Taniya is strong, noble, and proud, and that he cannot match up to her. She released him because he can't win against her, and spends the rest of the day mindlessly going about his business, and quite noticeably, too.
Juudai and his friends confront Misawa, and Misawa tells them that he's very impressed by her boldness and high self-esteem, even though she is a shadow duelist. That night, Juudai is preparing his deck to duel against Taniya, when Misawa knocks on his door and tells him that he feels Taniya coming. Juudai, Misawa, and the rest of the group head to Taniya's colosseum, where she is waiting for them. She at first thinks that Juudai is stupid, offending him a bit. But they start the duel anyway. Inside Taniya's "death ring", their spirit forms duke it out DBZ-style.
In an extremely close match, Juudai defeats Taniya with 100 life points remaining. Taniya feels happy that she has found the strong duelist she's been searching for her whole life. Her body then begins to morph into its true form -- a white tiger named Tora. Her shadow item, a gauntlet, is dropped on the ground, and she walks off into the jungle with Baas.
