titan
Name kanji: ƒ^ƒCƒ^ƒ“
Age: Unknown
Deck type: Demon Matador
Voice: Wakamoto Norio (Japanese), Eric Stuart (American)
At first, Titan comes into the show as a hired duelist who can create shadow games, albeit fake ones. He's hired by Chronos in one of his schemes to eliminate Juudai and get him out of the school. He kidnaps Asuka, holding her hostage in a coffin, and duels Juudai for her safe return. During the duel, Titan explains the nature of the real shadow games: no one can stop it or escape from it once it has started and until it has finished. Although he's using fake shadow magic, something very akin to the real shadow games appears and attempts to devour Titan with its dark monsters. Hane Kuriboh appears and defends Juudai from these dark monsters. When he is defeated, his body is swallowed up by the surrounding monsters.
But this isn't the end of him yet. He returns in the first season as the sixth Seven Star assassin, and this time lures Asuka to duel him by both getting her attention with the bait of the return of her brother's memories, and the power of his shadow item -- now real -- to put her into a trance so he can carry her off to where he and Juudai first dueled in the abandoned dorm. If she wins, she'll regain her brother's memories, but if she loses, Titan takes her key and she'll be sent to the shadow world in order to be made into a shadow duelist. In a particularly close duel in which Asuka nearly gives up, she finally defeats Titan, and he is consumed again in the same manner as in episode 5, probably never to be seen again. His motives for becoming a shadow duelist are never explained, aside from possibly having fun hurting and having fun with the duelists whose souls he takes.
